The Aragosaurus-IUCA research group’s Microfauna team, headed by Dr. Gloria Cuenca Bescós, is based in the Earth Science Department of the University of Zaragoza. The team is working on the following research areas: palaeontological study of small Pleistocene and Holocene vertebrates in the Atapuerca area; systematics, evolution, appearance and disappearance events -biostratigraphy-; palaeoecology and palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimatic reconstructions, based on the evolution of small vertebrate associations; and small vertebrate palaeobiogeography and taphonomy.
